Honestly... tell me the truth

Does the cry out method REALLY work????

Jacob is almost 9 months

Not sleeping through the night

Him and Josh were sharing a bed while I slept on the couch or air mattress cause it was just too cramped and every time Jacob sees me in the night we wants to nurse BUT he slept through the night twice and only got up to eat once the rest of the time. BUT that was short lived cause he is a mover in his sleep and fell head first of the bed... so that's not gonna work. Plus everyone says it's really bad to sleep with your baby bla bla bla

We JUST finally got a crib but have no idea how to train him to use it

He has NEVER put him self to sleep cause I was stupid as a first time mother of a new born and thought "if he nurses to sleep then I have a good 3 hours till he wakes up and needs to eat again verses taking an hour to get him to sleep on his own and then only getting 2 hours of sleep myself" I didn't know any better

We put him in his crib for the first time and an hour later he OF CORSE FREEEEEAKED out when he woke up cause it's new to him or what ever

So Josh and I thought maybe it's time to try the cry out method, and holy cow!!!! I have never heard him scream like that. I seriously doubt that he would be able to calm himself down after that by himself. It not like when you pick him up he stops either. He's like FULL ON melt down and he is SOOOO worked up he wont even nurse which is his favorite thing in the whole wide world (trust me).

I don't see how on earth letting him cry like that will do any good for anyone.

I don't know what I'm doing. I feel like the worst mom ever. I wish I could start over with him. Back when he was a new born.

I'm sorry to vent and get you all involved. Being a parent is seriously the hardest thing in the entire world

Here are our goals:
we have no idea how we are going to achieve them

1. to have him sleep in his crib

2. to have him sleep the whole night

3. to have him be able to put himself to sleep with out nursing or assisting

It's SOOO overwhelming. I don't know where to start, I don't know what to do, but I felt like I needed to write out our goals and maybe the way will be shone to us as we seek it out.

Confessions of a Foodaholic

So, I'm at this point where I'm feeling lose lose when it comes to weight loss.
I'm turning into the excuses QUEEN with EVERYTHING these days and I don't know why.
I know how to lose weight. I understand that you must burn more calories than you consume for a LOOOOONG period of time. I know that the food pyramid is an important daily guide. I know that exercise is the best thing for our bodies and will lead to a longer more energetic and fulfilling life. I know that we need to drink water all day long. I KNOW this stuff. Then... why is it so hard?

When I was reading the book Confessions of a Shopaholic, (which by the way is almost nothing like the movie. The names are the same and that's about it, oh and the fact that she likes to shop, but anyways) I felt like the things that she was thinking about her addiction were so similar to my own thoughts with my own "addiction" to food. I need to ...

Eat less

or

Move more

(or both if I am feeling really ambitious... which I'm not)

But I can think of a million excuses for not doing either. I mean, a girls got to eat, right? Urg! Does anyone else feel really pissy when they don't get to eat what they want or how much they want? Now I sound like a heffer. I think the problem is that for my whole life I have always eaten for every meal and snack what I feel like tasting and not what my body is needing. Wow and I just realized that growing up I usually got what I wanted, I'm so spoiled! And I have the WORST sweet tooth EVER!!! BAAAA! I don't know how to change my habits. Actually... I just thought of something that I'm gonna try... I just got inspired while writing this. We all know that thoughts become things (or at lease we should). Thoughts become actions, actions become habits, and habits become tradition and traditions are very hard to break. A friend of mine told me that a long time ago for something completely different, but it could would here, right?

Now for the move more
So now that I'm a mom, and my son is SOOO attached to me I can hardly go to the bathroom or do house work cause he wants me holding him or by him or in his close site all day long, a gym membership doesn't seem like it would be money well spent. I know they have day care for free, but Jacob would cry the whole time cause he doesn't like strangers or being away from me AND I don't like the thought of some stranger with my baby... so that's not going to work. I know I need to put Jacob in a stroller and walk around the neighborhood, but it's been so hot lately. Urg, here I go again with the excuses. Here it is, who honestly likes and wants to work out? I don't! I have never gotten to that point where I feel good during a work out (or afterwords)  and feel physically lacking when I don't workout and/or that I need to workout to feel complete for the day. If you have, please let me know cause I don't think it exists. And if it does, please tell me how long does it take? A month, 90 days, 6 months??? I don't know.

So that's where I'm at with all that. I could use some inspiration and motivation. And that's another thing, how do you keep your self motivated? I know that to be healthy, you need to make it a life style. I know the words, but don't know how to actually do it for myself. I hope you reading this understand my sense of humor and don't think that I'm all depressed or anything. I'm down about it, but I still have my sense of humor and I hope it comes out in my writing. =)

1st 4th

First 4th of July!!!

We went to our friend Sara's house and hung out with her family
Jacob made a new friend Lucas, Sara's son!
They are gonna be BFF's =)
They were so cute together. Jacob has never really been around other babies before, he didn't know what to think of it. He played nice and licked Lucas's hair, but then later he pulled it pretty hard. I felt bad, he's got quite a grip.
Jacob was awake for ALL the fireworks. He was AMAZED! I didn't get any pictures of the fireworks and totally wish I had. Oh well.
We had SOOO much fun! There were a few of babies and moms there so it was so nice to talk about our kiddos and get advice and share fun stories. I needed it! THANKS SARA!

Here's Jacob and Lucas
Lucas is 2 1/2 months older than Jacob

Here's all the boys playing =)

Jacob met a little baby GIRL too. hee hee
She is 5 months old. He was SO gentle with her! They were just holding hands, AWE it was SO CUTE! (I cropped her face out just incase her parents didn't want me to post pictures of their baby on the internet)

Here's what I wanted him to wear but as you can see (maybe you can't tell) it's WAY too tight. I got it last year on sale and I got the size 9 months thinking that my baby would be able to fit into it by next year since he will almost be 8 months... NOPE! Jacob is HUGE! That outfit with the orange and gray strips is a 24 month outfit! No joke!

Baby push ups and cuteness

Isn't he the cutest thing you ever did see?!?
We sure do love him!!!

First the cuteness... AWE

OH...

AWE AWE

OH... HEE HEE

AWE... OH

Baby push ups

He's getting so big and strong

Kinda blurry but I had to take the picture quick

Look at his feet, they just look weird to me cause he can flatten them. I don't know, I'm sure all babies can do that so it might be no big thing to anyone else =)
