Baby Shower

Saturday was my baby shower. It was awesome! Thank you to everyone who came and for all the great stuff! I don't have the pictures yet, except for the cake so I will post the one that I have. The cake was AMAZING!!!!! The shower "theme" was fall harvest, so there were leaves everywhere and the cake was a pumpkin spice cake. It was made by a lady in my parents ward named Sharon Yadon and her daughter Rebecca (Sharon did my wedding cake too, which was also amazing)!

And the pumpkin is cake too! Isn't that awesome!?! When I first saw it I thought it was the center piece for the table, not the cake! It also tastes amazing too!

So, after the shower I got hit by the "nesting" bug really bad! I had all the presents all over the house and it was really a big mess. So Josh woke up to me crying about how over whelmed I felt with all this stuff everywhere and all the stuff that we still needed. So we have been cleaning and cleaning and cleaning and getting all the baby stuff ready for days now! Josh and I went to Babies R Us and cleared out the rest of the items on my registry, then got home and got it all set up with a LOT of help from the 2 grandmothers to be. And I felt a lot better for a few hours, and then I started crying again last night after everything was done because we are all ready and this is really happening, I'm really gonna have a baby. Gotta love those pregnancy hormones! =) Honestly I haven't been hormonal hardly at all this whole pregnancy, it's just the last 3 days, I swear. =)

I went to the Dr. this morning and everything is looking good. She said that I have "dropped" and she also was guessing the baby weight based on my measurements and she is guessing that the baby is between 7 and 7 1/2 pounds right now!!! That's CRAZY! He still has 3 weeks to go! I'm going to have a big baby! I'm really at the finish line and this could happen anytime. Wow! I'm not anxious to get him out, I really want him to keep cookin till he is good and done. But I'm really getting excited to hold him and kiss him and all that fun stuff. I can't wait to compare who he looks more like. I'm hoping he looks just like his daddy cause Josh was the CUTEST baby and kid ever!

The last month of pregnancy

Josh and I have recently discovered that our baby is going to be here in less than 4 weeks!!! For me, pregnancy has been really easy and I am going to miss being pregnant. It has also gone by very very fast! At first when we were waiting to find out if  our baby was a boy or a girl, that part went by SO SLOW! But now it's almost over, CRAZY! I sort of feel like a time bomb that could "go off" anytime now. We have been doing all sorts of things to "get ready," birthing classes, reading tons of books, watching parenting and youtube videos, spending time with my friends new born etc, BUT the hardest thing that we are doing, for me, is... I have been so hot my whole pregnancy, I'm always hot or comfortable, rarely cold and I never used to be like that before I was pregnant, so even as the summer has faded in Seattle, I want to kill anyone who turns the heat on. So that means that our house will stay about 65 during the day and sometimes when we wake it it's 60 and I still won't let Josh turn the heat on, I tell him to layer instead. Here's the BIG BUT, I have come to the realization that I can't keep the house this cold with a new born!!! So we have been keeping the house at 70 all the time and most of the time I'm okay, unless I'm cooking, cleaning or drying my hair, but please tell me the hot flashes go away instantly after no longer being pregnant.

We are really getting excited for him to come! This last week has been the hardest for me in my whole pregnancy because I'm really starting to feel huge and pregnant and restricted. It takes so much effort to do anything, get off any chairs, bend down to pick something up, roll over in bed, sleep in general and if I thought I when to the bathroom a lot before, I was wrong! Plus I didn't expect that my hips would be so sore, that's new and it keeps me up at night. I swear I'm not complaining even thought it sounds like it. I'm more so laughing at myself out loud. I do love being pregnant, just sharing the joys with everyone.  =)

Question for other parents, was it hard to find your child's name??? We are having the hardest time. Nothing sounds just right. We thought we knew what his name was, we always talked about Jacob or Luke, but now that we are having a baby, those names just don't sound right. Everyone is asking us what his name is, we just don't know. Did you just wake up one day and say "this will be my child's name?" or did some of you have to see your baby and then you knew?

Well, that's how we are doin. I love this little baby inside of me so much! I'm so excited to hold him. I have been reading out loud to him because I really want him to know my voice. =) I think he likes it cause he moves around a lot when I do it. Oh and the 2 people who really wanted to feel him move have finally been around at the right time to feel it (my mom and my best friend Rachel) so I'm ready now, he can come anytime hee hee =)

I LOVE FALL!!!

Fall is my favorite time of year! I LOVE FALL! I love everything about it! I love the colors (oranges, yellows, browns, deep reds etc), I love the smells (clean, crisp air after a light rain), I love fallen leaves, I love pumpkin spice candles and I LOVE the 2 holidays in fall Halloween and Thanksgiving! I really get excited and happy and a little nuts this time of year!

Halloween comes in very very close second to Christmas on my favorite holiday! I'm not sure why I love Halloween so much! Those who know really well know that I hate scary movies and I hate to be scared (like someone popping out behind me, making me jump). And yet, I still love this fun and colorful holiday. I try to explain it by saying that I love the cute side of halloween, not the dark side. Meaning, the fun costumes and costume parties, carving pumpkins, candy corn, scare crows, and trick or treating.

And then there is Thanksgiving. I Love thanksgiving, but in a very different way than Halloween. It's more of a humble internal love where as Halloween I get rather hyper and gitty. For dinner with the family, I think I will make my grandmothers homemade pumpkin pie! It's THE BEST! My mother makes cranberry sauce every year, and it's AMAZING! We don't go near that canned crap. My aunt Chris makes the turkey and it's truly the best turkey in the entire world!!! It's juicy, tender, and melts in your mouth! I'm not sure all of her secrets in making this masterpiece, but one thing she does is she cooks the bird upside down, the the breast toward the bottom of the pan. That way the breast meat catches all the juices and drip down. It makes perfect sense. Every time I think of what Thanksgiving will be like this year, I tear up. This Thanksgiving will be very special and very different then any other in the past because my baby will be born and I will have him in my arms as I celebrate with my family all that I am grateful for. I can see it in my head so clear, passing him around to all my different family members, and it makes me so happy and so weepy to think of it. I love this baby so much and I'm so grateful to be his mom and that I was blest with such an easy time getting pregnant and being pregnant. I'm so grateful to have such an amazing husband who loves me more than I every thought someone could and I can't wait to see him hold our baby. I know he will make the best father and I'm grateful that I get to the mother to that family.

Then after Thanksgiving there is CHRISTMAS!!! My FAVORITE time of year! I have already starting singing Christmas songs at home! It drives Josh CRAZY, but I think it's all show, I think he really loves it on the inside. =)

I LOVE this time of year!!!!!!!!!

Yummy!

I made bread yesterday! And not from a bread maker, by hand and from scratch. I just wanted to see if I could do it, cause I have never made it before with out either a box or a bread maker, so I thought I would give it a try. My mom already told me that she is giving me a bread maker for Christmas, so I'm pretty excited about that cause I LOVE homemade bread! One is regular white bread and the other is sweet white bread. It was actually pretty easy and they turned out great, so I thought that I would share =)
